Day 1:
Arrival in Zurich. Your tourdirector and bus driver will await you at the airport and take you to your accommodation in one of the charming villages in the surrounding of Zurich. Check-into your booked accommodation. This afternoon, enjoy a 3h walking tour of Zurich with licensed guide in your requested language (tbc.). Dinner - typical Suiss fondue dinner - of course accompanied by a glas of wine or beer. Night in the surrounding of Zurich.
Day 2:
Excursion by bus south to Meiringen and the Hasli valley. You will experience a nostalgic ride on the first Swiss wank cable car - over 100 years old - along the roaring Reichenbach and across stone bridges up to the mighty top water falls, more than 120 m high. Here at the top station you will find a white star marking the spot, where Sherlock Holmes was said to have faught his deadly fight against his arch enemy Prof. Moriarty. Along a path, lasting approx. 20 min. you will pass 3 terraces, from where you will experience breathtaking views over the water falls and the whole Hasli valley. Your busdriver will await your Down at the valley station, and take you back to Zurich. Dinner - typical local specialities. Tonight: finish off the day on a cruise boat on Lake Zurich to the music of the most famous songs of the early 50s - 80s. Night in the sourrounding of Zurich.
Day 3:
Goodbye Zurich. Board your bus for a trip to Schaffhausen. Visit Europes largest water falls on an excursion boat, stopping at the rock in the middle of the falls, to climb the rock for a memorial picture. Time at leisure for individual lunch, before you will board the coach again and continue into the Black Forrest. We will come across the most idyllic part passing by Villingen/Schwenningen and Triberg to Furtwangen, where you will visit the German Clock Museum. Here you will get to know f. i. how the Kuckuck gets into the famous Black Forrest Clocks. Finally end this day by driving to your tonight´s accommodation in one of the pretty Black Forrest villages. Dinner - Black Forrest specialities. Night in a village in the Black Forrest.
Day 4:
After breakfast, drive south through the Black Forrest towards Lake Constance. First stop in Immenstaad, where you will walk over steels on the famous lake dwellings from back from Bronze Age. Continue to Meersburg. Stop for individual lunch and time at leisure. You might want to join a tour of the mighty castle or eventually klimb up the Dagobert tower for a breathtaking view over the medieval town. Continue by bus through the Allgau to Kempten, were we will check into our accommodation for this night, in one of the typical Allgau villages. Dinner - specialities of the area. Night in a village near Kempten.
Day 5:
After breakfast, board your bus for a tour via Pfronten to Fussen, where you will visit King Ludwigs fairytale castle Neuschwanstein. After an approx. 20 min. walk, you will reach the castle for a guided tour, leading you back to the times of King Ludwig and Richard Wagner. Later continue to drive via Steingaden - see Germanys most famous Rokoko church, the Church in the Meadow - finally to Oberammergau. Legend relates that the inhabitants of Oberammergau made a pledge, in case the plague would spare their village. Since this happened, the Oberammergau people celebrate every 10 years the world famous Oberammergau Passion Play. Tonight, you will enjoy a dinner - speciallities from the Bavarian Alps. Night in one of the Bavarian Alp villages.
Day 6:
This morning, we cross an Alpine pass to Innsbruck (short foto stop) and continue through the Inn Valley to Brannenburg. Board the oldest German mountain railway, the wank cable car up to the Wendelstein. The chapell or the observatory are two of the sights you could see on top of the mountain. Time for a walk or possibility for a typical Bavarian snack, before you will decend again by cable car, this time to Osterhofen. The busdriver is expecting you there to take you to Salzburg. Check into your accommodation. Dinner - typical Austrian specialities. Night in Salzburg or surrounding.
Day 7:
Meet this morning with your licensed guide for a 3 hours walking tour of Salzburgs Old City, made into a World Cultural Heritage by the UNESCO. Afternoon at leisure for own activities. Maybe you would like to take the funicular up to the fortress, or visit the birth house of W. A. Mozart. A cruise on the river Salzach is also an alternative for taking nice memory pictures of this town. This evening: experience a Mozart Dinner Concert at the oldest Salzburg restaurant, the Peterskeller, where musicians dressed up in ancient costumes will lead you back to the times of Mozart, while you will enjoy a special evening dinner, cooked after ancient recipes. Night in Salzburg or surrounding.
Day 8:
After breakfast, departure from Salzburg across the Lake District to Linz. Stop and possibility for individual lunch, before you will continue to the Danube Valley. Check into one of the numberous Gasthofe in this area. Afternoon: visit to the ruin Aggstein, where legend relates that Richard the Lionheart has been imprisened after his return from a cruisade to Jerusalem. Enjoy the breathtaking view down on the Danube, before continuing to the Wachau, made into another World Cultural Heritage by the UNESCO. The Wachau Valley is a synthesis of arts with its tiny picturesce villages, the wine growing terraces, the imposing abbeys between orchards and alluvial forrests and the numberous ruins and castles high up on the hills! Dinner - specialities of the region, of course accompanied by a glas of typical Wachau wine. Night in a village in the Danube Valley.
Day 9:
After breakfast, departure by bus via Bratislava to Budapest. Stop en route for individual lunch. Upon arrival in Budapest, a licensed guide in your requested language (tbc.) will await you, to show you the highlights of the city of Buda and Pest on a 3 hours sightseeing tour. Check into your booked accommodation. Tonight, dinner - Hungarian specialities. Night in Budapest or surrounding.
Day 10:
This morning, your bus will take you into the Puszta, the famous Hungarian steppe, where on a typical horse ranch you will experience a folclore show in Hungarian costumes as well a special horse show by the "Csikos", the Hungarian cowboys. Enjoy a typical Hungarian lunch, before the bus will take you back to Budapest in the afternoon. Time at leisure. You might want to buy the typical pepper or a bottle of Tokay wine to take with you back home. Tonight: a "spicy" farewell dinner with typical Hungarian food, accompanied by a glas of Tokay wine and accentuated by Hungarian gipsy music will finish up this nostalgic tour.
Day 11:
departure transfer to the airport.
